Hi guys , Im running a KBA 142 with fountain solution 3551 plus 2 from Prisco.That solution make lines on my metering and sometimes that shows on my job. Do you have a suggestion for me ? Thanks
This can be a mechanical issue, be it micro scored chrome rollers, metering rollers with too much pressure etc. But This can also be the type of fountain solution used splitting at the metering roller nip. I don't know the roller layout of the KBA but would have though it would have an oscillator somewhere in the water system to stop this issue. Obviously not, which is the same as the machine I run. I struggled with this issue for years, with each and every fountain solution supplier saying it's a press issue and nothing can be done, albeit some were worse then others. The higher you had the water dials the worse it got. We are now running Genesis fountain solution from Amerikal, the issue has gone. Zero circumferential banding on the metering roller. Doesn't matter what speed you have the metering roller there is no banding forming. Certainly makes life easier when your printing solids or large coverage screens.
