I have not seen any metallic ink for an epson printer.

http://www.rolanddga.com/products/inks/silver/ and http://www.rolanddga.com/products/printCut/xc540mt/ are interesting links though if you've got the $$,$$$ money for cool tools!

A decade ago the way to do metallic on the cheap in very low volume was the alps desktop printers. Those aren't made any more.

Fotonic Ink "Metallic Reflections" http://www.inkjetart.com/news/fotonic/reflection.html is kind of metallic and maybe what you're looking for in terms of changing with angle of view / light to a metallic effect.

There are also some foils that stick to black laser toner from b/w laser printers like http://adriatix.hr/A_PROIZVODI/A_Foly/A_FOLY_1.htm

thanks a lot for the info i think the fotonic ink should work for this project...

i also have another seperate question and didnt really want to start a whole new thread..

whenever i use the card tray on the printer(epson stylus r340) it prints crooked(the design does not run parallel to the top of the card when its printed)

i tried aligning it and it didnt help at all..any suggestions?

Honestly, I don't know this specific epson and don't know what you mean by the card tray - I thought card stock fed through the same main paper tray. Smaller printers like this don't often have very good feed mechanisms - the feed wheel also won't always be centered on the stock so it relies on the paper to be firmly against the small sideguilde. Does the paper have any curl or warp to it so it's not following the guide? Does it happen on all stock and all sizes or only some. If you can't fix the printer, you could always manually skew the design before printing - pain in the neck but not many options with small plastic printers for adjustment usually.
