hi. new here. new to the 7800. having issues with substrate and ink sticking to the blankets. i am going through blankets like crazy. my company just installed the press in august. not happy with the service we've received so far, so i thought i would reach out to the people who know the press better than anyone...the operators.

i am the only operator at my company. i have run a 6500 ws and a kodak nexpress.

here's the issue. ink is building up on the non op side of the blanket. a lot. after a while, paper starts sticking to the ink and actually picking layers off the substrate. i'm talking about 2 to 3 inches into the blanket! i've done all the suggestions ive gotten from service calls and it seems to be stumping my field service tech as well. and it doesn't seem to be an urgent issue for them.

help. please. i have checked and rechecked paper specs. i have tried lowering blanket temps on lighter unctd stocks. nothing works. ink builds up and then starts picking off lighter substrates.

i can't be the only one this is happening to?

    thanks

in case anyone is interested, this is a "known issue" for the 7800. finally got an answer from hp. field service came in and changed a setting in the software, making the second transfer more old school. seems the new software works on an algorithm and creates too much pressure and slightly uneven. so far, so good.

Thanks for the update been running 7800 since May, haven't seen this issue. But the fix seems to make sense. I would've leaned more towards PIP underlayment or possible feeder bridge alignment but your work would've been offset to one side. Either way glad it's fixed for you.
