Does anyone have 2 cents on servicing an HP Indigo 1000. I have the option to purchase one but want to make sure I can find some literature on maintaining and servicing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

Where do you get for buying this literature? Here in Brazil we do not have such access, at least I know. Has an experience of about three years with the HP 1000 and I assure you I've gone through a lot with it. If I can help in something, I am available.

I was able to purchase this press for cheap from a printer that went out of business. I have the press fired up but am getting error messages like: "The application log file is full" and "At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use event viewer to examine event log for details." But the event log has no errors listed. The Indigo GUI launches but will not initialize the press, I just get a fatal error. Could it be that I need to fix a Com port or something between the computer and the press? Thanks for any help. As you can tell I am new to the Indigo.

Actually, I resolved those issues. My main problem now is : I/O Bus Read error and FCB download error. Could my 3 phase power be an issue?

I had the same problem a week ago. When you have this problem of FCB he always gives "Fatal Error" is not it?

In my case, I suspected several problems to reach the solution. I suspected the network adapter used by the Lan Mac, Rip Gui plate, disk, and everything imaginable.

After all, I discovered that one of HD's dynamic was an error. This error is given so much to do formatting the disks that it created an error in recording and playback system.

My solution was to restore the operating system and installed programs and also the backup of the settings of the software that manages the equipment.

One caution that must be taken and made me lose a lot of time to solve is: can not just format the HD's have to come clean and then putting the program by program.

His is the HP Indigo 1000 series or 1050?

Yes, I have the pre-installation cd and the software cd and the manual that walks you through the steps. The computer won't recognize the cd's though. Am I doing something wrong? Or are my CD's simply defective? Thanks in advance.

This CD you have is a "ghost"? Norton Ghost? If you have a few installation steps but is not defective.

I have the pre-insallation cd from HP, but it doesn't seem to work. I do have a ghost on an ORB disk, but that is defective as well. I am trying to get that to work. I think I might be out of luck with that though. Is there any way for you to send me a disk image or ghost of your machine that I could install onto mine?

That would not work. The reason is that each CD has the configuration and data of the machine components. Why is this so important to have this pre-installation CD. Where you live has an HP support to guide you not? How long are you with this equipment?

You can be comfortable. Whenever you need but can ask. I do not know much about the machine, but the little I know I guarantee that will help a lot. The only problem that you were just messing up the issue of not having the cd's to restore the machine. Anything can also contact by email fernandoccs@terra.com.br

Just to update you. I got the disk images from HP and did a complete software restore. But still have the FCB download error. I'm now going through checking all connections to the FCB. I'll let you know how I make out.

Thus, if the error continues, you will have to do as I did a while ago, here was giving for reasons of HD's dynamic, then check the connections and if does not work, format the HD background with an XP from another cd, send it to format in NTFS and complete an observation: delete the dynamic disk during formatting, after you do all this, oh yes, reinstall system restore you have. In my case the error Download the FCB was because of a dynamic HD formatted wrong. May ask if you need the will.
