    Hi,

Does anyone know how to set ink keys on xl105.I talked to Heidelberg and they sаid to put the keys on 2(big)13(small) on CP2000 and then check the keys on the machine and set it to 0.03mm.The problem is that one of the Heidelberg guys says to do this with without removing transparent foil and the other says I have to remove all foils and then set it to 0.03mm.
    Аppreciate any help

Why do you need to reset the ink key? Did you have to replace the motor? Easiest way to do it is to set all ink keys to ink shutoff. Remove the ink key motor you want to reset, and the one next to it. Use the key next to the one you want to set as a guide for resetting. Once you get the motor off both keys also remove the white plastic wheel behind the motor. Now you have access to the actual key that the servo is moving. Using a screwdriver, turn the continue to turn the key until it bottoms out (usually 3/4 to half turn) make sure you watch exactly how much you turn this key because you are going to set your other key exactly the same way. Now all you have to do is take your ink key and turn it till it bottoms out and count back exactly the same ammount as your reference ink key. This method works perfectly and takes far less time than removing foils.

And one more question what I have to do if I want to check all the keys.Should I do it with or without foils to set it to 0.03 mm

I use the yellow ink method. Turn off machine and replace ink zone motor and reconnect cable but do not reconnect mechanically. Turn on machine and put some yellow ink in the fountain and set the entire fountain to show a very fine film of ink on the fountain roller (1 or 2 led's). With the fountain set on full sweep you will visually be able to match your misadjusted key manually to the other zones. Reconnect inkzone motor when done.

Why do we need to remove 2 keys, as you say for the reference, but when ink is shut off we can bottom out the one we want to reset and then turn back 3/4 turn to put the motor back?

True, you can do that too. But its slightly more accurate if you set it exaclty as the one next to it. But yes setting back 3/4 will get you very close too.

I used this method to set ink zones on komori LS429 it works perfect but for the XL I think that Exheidmech and Aqazi81 method is much easier
