This might seem like a silly question but I have a GTO 46 and I want to use up some laser poly plates I have (imaged on a HP5100).
Anyway the point is that they are narrow ( I will run A4 paper portrait). I just want to know if the plate edge will damage my form rollers for ink or my bareback dampener. I would like to use the plates but not at the expense of making a mark in my nice new rollers.

Yes it will if rollers are set tight to the plate.

so if you have a light setting do you think it is ok. My stripes on the plate are 2-3mm

We run paper plates on our GTO 52s that are narrower than the width of the plate cylinder without issue. We keep our stripes set in the same range that you mentioned. However, we run like this 100% of the time, so even though we can't see any physical damage on the rollers, I can't speak to whether we'd see anything if we went back to a full width plate. We do still get full life out of the rollers.
