Should be a roller switch under the register table.

Hmmmmm...., you got me! Could have sworn the pulse originated at the roller switch through the STA. Maybe an inductive sensor in the delivery, amidst the fan banks? Anyone? Anyone? (A little humor there, Ferris Bueller's Day Off) :).

STA has nothing to do with sheet counter on CPtronic machines. Sheet counter is done via software

Was there not a roller switch, even into mid 90s, that sent the pulse, exheid?

There was a roller switch on very early version SM74s on the OS that ran on the cam right behind the encoder. Very few machines had it and if I remember correctly it did generate a pulse for the STA. I believe that the newer machines generate this pulse for STA via CPtronic. Impression count has always been done via CPtronic.
