Same model, different years! what's the difference?

Hello everybody,

Me and my partner have a printing business in Brasil, He is the one that understand in printing

He asked me to look for a GTO 52 , 1 color machine.
I have a few questions:

1. What is the difference between the same model, GTO 52, from different years? I mean if I buy a 1984 machine is it the same as 1996 machine or a new one? Is the only difference for me is the number of impressions?
2. What is the parallel model for GTO 52 in other companies? I know this machine is very famous for its quality but I'm sure other companies has similar products. Can anybody recommend me about a machine that is like the GTO 52 from other known companies?

Mechanically all GTOs are pretty much the same. Differences youll see are in the elctronics, safety gaurds, and dampning. I would probably try to stay away from anything with conventional or ductor style dampning. DDS is a good dampning but can be very sensitive. If you can alcolor is probably the best and most forgiving dampning style. Hope this helps.
