Is this true, if we adjust a form roller to vibrator to a specified strip width, lets say 5mm to vibrator, then we should adjust that roller to the plate 1mm less, say 4mm ?

I assume by vibrator you actually mean oscillator.....in any case it depends on wether the oscillator is rilsan or UPVC plastic drainpipe coated !!

In all seriousness & in answer to your question, yes forme rollers to oscillating rollers for example 5mm then set the forme roller to plate at 4mm, so the forme rollers are getting the drive from the oscillator rollers which can then prevent skiding on the plate.

what is the strip width for water form to oscillator in vario type dampening and metering to form.
I have two different roller setting manuals, both of these have different specs. one is from Heidelberg and the other one is from bottcher.

In America, what the UK calls the oscillator, they call it the vibrator, what the UK calls the vibrator, the US calls the ductor.

There are quite a few different names for parts of the press, the US doesn't use front or side lays, they say head stops and side guide.

In the U.S we call them vibrators, and oscilators. the difference on most heidelbergs the operator can oscilate the form rollers to get rid of Ghosting.
so the term Vibrator is used to be more clear. and yes inking forms to plate should be 1mm smaller than the Vibrator/Oscilator stripe. distributors should have the same stripe as Vibrator/oscilator stripes. the idea is to go from most resistence to least resistence down the ink train.
