Hi everybody, I am working on a QMDI-46-4 classic that have a problem with ink fountains and rollers. After imaging the computer freeze, and don't set the ink profile. Also doesn't move the motors.

    I have tried some options:

    - Delete old ink profiles
    - Run a scandisk
    - Run a defrag
    - Checked cable from EISA to MAR4
    - Change all MAE rack (from another working classic)
    - Change EISA card
    - Checked all motors and potentiometers
    - Checked cable continuity

I will apreciate any other ideas. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip, I guess you are talking about EISA interface card.

I set the DIP switches according to the Manual (S1: 1-2 Off, 3-4 On, 5-8 Off). I also tried 2 other ISA cards (not EISA), and them had a smaller DIP switch, may be this cards are not for Classic.

I'll check continuity directly on the board.

Thanks QMDavor, and I will tell you my results.

"I set the DIP switches according to the Manual" - I've had similar problems with my press. I set my DIP switches according to the manual but they weren't actually correct. I realized this once I met another person with the same press whose DIP switches were set differently. The best thing to do would be to find another person with a working press and compare your switches' positions. I could upload a photo of my own DIP switches tomorrow.

Thank you for the tip, I'll see if I can have access to another DI Classic to compare, and I appreciate the photo of your card.

Hello Derec, sorry for my late reply, I've been very busy this week.

Here you can see dip switch settings on my press (1997 classic).

    Good luck :)

Thanks QMDavor, certainly DIP switches are misconfigured, the manual gives me the reversed configuration (1 corresponds to 8 and vice versa).
These days I do the test, and comment the results.

Hello again, I just checked the machine, I was testing with switches settings you gave me, and it did not work, but the problem was solved already, was an IRQ conflict.

Thanks anyway QMDavor, and I share the solution if can serve someone else.

By the way, in my case the switch configuration matches the manual. I attach a photo.
