First thing that comes to mind, outside of plate slippage due to worn/gummed up clamps, is the alignment pins in the double gear of the plate cylinder gearing assembly, these control positive movement of image when making changes via CPC/Cptronic in circuferential direction, does the image wander during run, does it seem to stay steady during makeready, but when in production it moves a bit and you must then "chase it" to get it back to where it was? If so, simply lubricating the guide pin and bushing assembly mounted on the inner and outer gears of the plate cylilnder would resolve the problem, or you may have to replace them if worn out. This holds true only if you don't see doubling or slurring in the movement. I went through this extensively with a pressman on Printplanet.com, you may want to search that site to see if you can access the thread, it's full of information. Good Luck

Does the register move down and then stop? Does the register movement move up and down? How many impressions are on the machine? Did you check the cam followers? Does the machine have urithane grippers? Does the movement occur on various paper stocks?
