    Please help!!

Am running a Heidelberg QM DI 46 PLUS, and getting an error which is displayed on the machines monitor

' Warning. Communication Error. Reboot as Needed' (photo attached)

All seems normal with the machine - except the keyboard interface has lost power, with the buttons unresponsive and all the lights out. Reboot produces the same result.

Anybody have any idea what could be done to fix?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Luke

I know this one... I just can't remember it. LOL

Try unplugging your network cable which goes to your RIP and see if the press boots up. I am reaching into the cob webs here but I think it is network related.

Paul - same exact thing going on here with our press, we tried the unplugging network cable to RIP and didn't help. Lucas mentions "empty and restart", can you tell me what exactly that means? Thank You so much, we're down and in the middle of a job--of course

I am not clear on the "empty and restart". I just remember this issue having been caused by lack of communication with the RIP.

This problem was with the msdos command and setup line command

ok, in the last time , i remember that this problem was with the line command wioth the msdos and communication with the RIP... other is somethings the problem was the hard disk problem and the line MSDOS command o FreeDOS have issues... So...
    To fix this...
    1. Check all cable, and the network cable from the RIP to the Press, this wire is a crosswire network.

    2. Whe this happen, get the last floppy BOOT DISK in your hand to start MSDOS line command. Put the disk and wait for start from floppy. Without touching anything, type "C:" ENTER, then and then hit the following command "EDIT AUTOEXEC.BAT" When I say DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING YOU DO NOT ALTER command line and see if they appear abnormally character.

    3. Skip to the program using Alt key and arrows, and look Quit or Exit.

    4. Press Alt + Del> <Crtl +, that you restart the system and expects to restart, when finished, just when it will begin to execute the command or the boot sequence .. (I speak after the start of the BIOS, you must know something of the system), press the F8 key several times to start line by line asks if you want to run ... You'll notice that the problem is with the network, perhaps it is because the command line does not run the load of the network driver, or maybe dont found the PC. The DELTA program does is create the file that the machine will take to create the plates and the profile color. is only load the machine as a network called the BITMAP folder with another folder inside called UNSKEWED are the files you have on the machine, if that folder is not shared network, or just not inthe with the machine not to initiate the system.

    5. If the problem is the network, the command sequence is not loading the network, you may have to use the MS-NET command, which is using the boot disk or let you charge your problem and you finish out all these warning, press the <Alt + X> that leaves the graphical interface GUI and goes for MS-DOS, then where you type the following command < CD .. + ENTER> and you give until you are at the prompt only "C :", there you write CD MS-NET and the prompt should be "C:\MS-NET\", then type the following command "SETUP + <enter>", and tries to configure your network card, protocol NetBui and shared folder ... it is necessary do this and that setting as well. remenber the folder BITMAP from the RIP has been shared, if dont this work, alway, NetBui protocol has been definit in the SETUP for MS-NET.... later, when you has finished all... press <ctrl + Alt + del> and the Pc press restart... if this dont work.. and you dont have Backup from your C: drive of the press.. is necesary do a other form.. most technical... for say this...

    6. Maybe this is no the problem.. ok... dont worry if you have a backup from this.. only copy the backup from the RIP of your Drive C. but, in MSDOS command... ¿¡How!?... ok.. let do start the system with the error.. ok.. no problem.. this message is again in the screen "connection erro bla bla blas..", ok wait for this windows dissaper, ok... press <Alt + x> and goes to MSDOS command line... black screen... ok.. write "CD.." to the promp show "C:" and write this line command... (please remember this backup of drive c: from the RIP is the OS for this press and the configuratio with the date of backup, for the problem is, if you do something register correction or something.. this goin to lose, all configuration has been the backaup date, ok) write COPY C: /A /S D F:\BITMAP\Qmc...(name of folder with the backup) *.* and wait... later restart, and walla! the press start very well.... i hope that this help work in your machine and fix the problem... sorry for the time...
