Hi guys. We are in the process of buying a 2 colour press. What is the difference between sm &pm .i have had offers of sm74-2 and now i received a offer for a pm74-2. Which machine would be better to get ? The sm74-2 is a 1998 model equipped with al the automatic washers etc. The pm on the other hand is a 2002 model and in very neat cond. Whats the difference between autoplate and easy plate? I've heard that the print master has very little automation ? Please help. Thanks guys

    Hi Pavan

Contact me - i will surprize you
    menybor@yahoo.com / +44-79-24232341

Print Master is a press at a lower level and less automation

But it is good for some and wrong for others.....
Speed master is a fast press - good for some , and no good for others

For the kind of work you want to do - both are wrong.

Contact me - i will surprize you :)

    No surprise

Hey Paven- Meny's surprise will likely come as no surprise. He's going to try to convince you that Japanese is better than German!!! Think of German cuisine compared to Japanese. Like, who would pick nasty raw fish over a plate of sausage and sauerkraut? Or a Nissan over a Mercedes! :) Regards, Steve. (aka junker 1984)

the pm is the base model very little automation but also on the other hand less to go wrong. Me personaly if your a small company would go for the pm model mainly because of the age the 2002 machine will be alot better than a 98 sm alot changed with on the 2000 above models

    Hello MQGPRESS

Well , I do like The Made in Japan better , mainly the Komori Brand , but to your surprize , i intended to hand him out a 4 color Heidelberg for the price he is going to pay for the 2 color.....

I do think The Japs build better presses , but will not try sell him one as i know what service he will get in SA....far from best...

Any way , if you think somthing - why not talk to me first rather then posting it as you did ?

And last point - i am in favor of fish only in the sea , not on my plate , even if well done...

Hey there Meny - My sincerest apologies if you believe I've been disrespectful. Maybe a difference in means of communication or semantics ruined my attempt at humor. Honestly, my two years in the orient left me with a fondness for Japanese and Korean cuisine, but you still can't beat hard rolls and mystery meat. Regards, Steve

Mqgpress - no need to apologize , I was a HD man for years and years , but since i got to know Kopmori - i have converted my religion :)

Heidelberg are good presses and i realy have nothing against them , in fact , i sell just about the same , as for every Komori i put in i must take out one or 2 HD presses...:)

Any way , my offer to Pavan was a 4 color Heidelberg press at his budget , and one he can inspect and test close to home , but he did not make contact so could loose the option over the week end.

And last but not least , i do not eat fish , not do i eat UFO meat in a hot roll , i choose salads & cheese , and it keeps me younger :)

We should all take a lesson from you, Meny! (regarding your healthy diet, not your preference in printing machinery :))

    tell you what
in 2007 , the SAPPY printer of te year print quality contest , the winer of the callander category was a customer of mine who took the world gold prize.

When the ones who lost to him but won other categories asket him what model of Heidelberg press he used XL / CD , and he answered "Komori" , they said "then we Heidelberg people have a real problem".....

I have cutomers who printed 100 mil impressions on a 40" Komori with a total expense for parts & labor UNDER 5000 EURO (in total)

Sorry , Heidelbergs are grate presses , but not as good as the Komori - from the printer's point of view...

Just a matter of time :)

    P.S
I also run 10 miles a day and swim 4 times a week as i have no work keeping the Komories running :)

Joe , it is hard to grab , i know , but it is true.

When i came in to the Komori family i was told in advace i will never be able to make money from parts & labor.
Comming from the Heidelberg market i said yha , yha..... but i was surprized to learn it was true... too bad for me :)

By the way , they do print some white ink but not on paper - on clear PVC ...:)
