    Hi all.

We got a problem with the host computer in SM74-4. we have installed it recently but the computer is not turning on at all. So I have open the cover and checked out the power supply. It's fine. I think the motherboard had gone. The motherboard is ROI computer AG 9-1101-9003. Will anybody be able to give me a solution?

    Thank you.

Better to contact Heidelberg than buying refurbished board.

Isolate the problem if it's the IPC or display. To check if it's the display plug in a desktop monitor, use a dvi to vga adaptor if needed to see if the screen can show the menu. CP 2000 IPC will start even by itself but won't just continue to boot normally. It will hang to the CP 2000 screen. If it's stiil dead then it is the IPC computer and normally it's the motherboard.

    Thanks Rani,
It's confirmed that the motherboard had gone. All others seems fine. I've checked the ATX power supply even. It's good too. it's a great help if you can help me to source a good motherboard for lower cost.

    Hi Nimesh,

You know this is an expensive part. You really have to be sure that the IPC motherboard is the problem. It can be the hard disk, application software and then the motherboard. Give me the symptoms and what have you done. Is it a new install? Also the IPC Heidelberg number starts with 00.783.XXXX. The old IPC starts with MC-C-RO-xx, MC2-C-RO-xx or MC3-C-RO-xx.

    Hi,
Thanks for the support. The IPC number is 00.783.0553/02 (MC3-C-RO-03)
Yes, this is a new installation and all others seems fine. The IPC just didn't turn on. So I've check it out.
First I've done is to check the incoming power 230v. It's fine. Then I've checked the power supply inside the IPC, fine. Then I've checked the motherboard CMOS battery, the battery had drained, but with my experience with computers, I know that the battery don't cause it not to turn on. (Normally with drained battery, the computer should turn on and give a message that the battery is low) Then I've tried shorting out the power button pins on the motherboard, still nothing. Then I've decided to seek help.

That is all I have done.

Thank you very much for helping me out.

Apologies to jump in this late Nimesh but the battery on the MC3 (the small yellow cube) if drained won't allow your IPC to turn on, change the battery it's better you try this than buying a new board. If you dont have a battery just cut off the positive terminal of the battery and the MC3 should start with a CMOS error, the supply on this IPC won't turn on with a drained battery.

    Hello everyone,
As Waqas explained thereally is no chance to boot MC3 IPC with a drained battery. But do not forget to correct BIOS settings. Without corrections IPC could boot but it may get other issues.

    Good luck

    Thanks all for the help.
Finally the IPC booted. As you have said the dead battery was the problem.

    Thanks all..
