Hi, We have a CD102-6 with CP2000 year 2001, recently there is a warning of main drive carbon brush on the monitor. We replaced all the carbon brushes even the old brushes are still good, but the warning remains even after acknowledge the message it will come back. Is there anyone knows how to get rid of the message. Is there a procedure to reset this message.

    Hi,
It is most likely that your main motor brush monitor/control system is at fault. This is made up of miniature microswitches mounted on the brush holders to monitor brush wear. These switches often get stucked creating seemingly brush monitor error.
You will require the services of an electrcian conversant with this system to sort the problem out.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks wunmi-50. When the message appear on the monitor, we had check the brush holder if there is any microswitches and we didn't see any. But I will double check it again maybe we overlook it due to miniature.

Just check for any optical sensor is there and if so, make sure the sensor is working and sensing the correct place. I.e the carbon brush, not somewhere else.

Thanks again wunmi-50. I saw the miniature microswitch today beside the carbon brush holder. Looks difficult to dismantle and replaced as the screws are on the side. Need to dismantle the brake and cover. Anyway thank you very much.

    Hi,
You are welcomed. It is usually a tedious job changing those miniature switches but you will have to go on it since it is hindering you production. If the switches are jammed you can try servicing them to get them free.

We recently faced a similar problem with one of the machines here as well, the brushes were ok but the machine would still show a warning on startup, there is a device in the central control cabinet by the name of "15U5" if I remember correctly, its basically just an optocoupler that puts out 24 VDC on receiving 220 VAC from the brush monitoring switches inside the motor, check whether if its giving a voltage 24VDC voltage output, this signal goes to the EAK, you can also interchange the EAK's to check if that is the problem.
