Hi fellow printers ! Can anyone help me with an instruction to adjust oscillating rollers for Heidelber CD 102. A diagram or a PDF would be real nice. Thank you very much in advance.

If I am not wrong you are asking about Lateral Ink Distribution Setting, if your press is equipped with CP2000, you can change timings of the Ink Distribution by entering into printing functions menu and set the value you want. 400 is the preset value.

You're correct Aquazi81. The press isn't equipped with CP2000. We do this adjustment manually by loosen the nut on the pivoting shaft on the DS. The problem is we're not sure what is the correct move.

if your looking to adjust the stroke length of the oscillating rollers then just loosen the nut with a T wrench and max it out in the slot. This will give you full oscillation from left to right. Putting the arms pivot point in the center of the slot will give you little, to no oscillation. Sometimes when the press gets older with lots of ink dried ink buildup on the roller ends, and side frames you may need to shorten up the stroke a little to avoid the press making noise.
If your looking to adjust the dead point of the inker to distribute the ink charge from gripper to tail of the sheet, I have found that the setting is a hit or miss proposition dependent on the forms inking requirements.

Thanks Turbotom ! We've been playing around but the outcomes are unpredictable. Could it be the roller itself has gone bad ?

Did you checked the size of the roller? What type of issue you are facing in print, density variation from lead edge to tail?

outcomes do tend to be unpredictable. Ive found that the moves you make on any given color needs to be somewhere around a 75 degree move to even show anything on the sheet. The other thing that makes these moves "unpredictable" is that often times moves are made in the wrong unit or must be made on multiple printing units to arrive at the right result. You can try to image multiple solid patches on all colors in the trim areas. These patches should run from gripper to tail at regular intervals so they can be read with densitometer. It should also be mentioned that you need to hold the oscillating arm gear as you move the press so it doesn't move when inching the machine.

    Hi sir
By modifying the starting point of the lateral ride it is possible to control the flow of ink so that the streaks of rollers can be optically weakened or even eliminated. this modification of the starting point has its effect on the quantity of ink propagated on the plate from the beginning of printing until the end of printing. the adjustment is done manually on the drive side following the procedure in the instruction manual or in large format machines the starting point is ordered on the cp2000
Good luck and be welcome for any question .

Does it control the oscillating speed while changing the degree into 90,180,270 and 360,did you have any idea about this

the speed of oscillation depends on the speed of the machine, but the change of setting affects the race of the ride

wait i'm not in the office now .
I will give you a picture e of the behavior of ink on the plate for several ride settings

    Hi sir
it can be a problem of adjusting the starting point of the lateral movement as it can be a problem of channel streaking that you cannot eliminate but you can reduce it by adjusting the ink load, the printing pressure and the lateral movement . can you please tell me which machine you have to find out how to reduce the problem because for each machine there is a well-defined angle where the channel streak occurs

I am working in ROLAND 700 I know that angle is using for those problem but don't know how the angle is working and what moment is happening in the oscillating that is my problem without knowing the working function we cannot solve the problem so that only I am asking with you to explain its working function and before you send a picture also can u explain picture after that I will come to know about its woking

excuse me sir but you had to post your questions in the man roland machines page, this page is for heidelberg machines, so I answer your questions thinking that you are talking about heidelberg machines, it is true that the problem is the same in everything the machines but the mechanisms are different. so please give me some time to have an idea of the ride mechanism in the roland and I will answer you
Ok i let you know sir
