    Coating problem

I have a Xerox Phaser 7400 for my printing and I want to do business cards and brochures. Is there machine I can get that would help me to accomplish that? Is there a laminator that would give the same look as a UV coat or an aqueous coat, or is there a machine that I could apply a coating after the printing? If anyone has any information on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Does it need to be a laminate? Aqueous Coatings are typically applied IN the press. Ultraviolet coatings can be done offline. Lots of companies have UV coaters now so shop around. FMA and Graphic Whizard both have one for example -

    here's the FMA one

Laminator is more of an investment $17000 laminates and trims up to 12" wide, Uv coater is less $9999 and per piece finsihed cost is much less feed 18 inch wide sheet. We have both-direct importer.

    Laminator

Laminator does not have to cost 17K You can get a Laminator with cutter for 12K or just a laminator for 3K. The coaters have there hidden costs as well ie.. filling, draining, and flushing the system each day for one. The cost of a 1.7mil lam per 12x18 sheet would be approx $.025 per sheet. If you run those 12 to 18 cards per sheet you are looking at less than a third of a penny per card and have given your customer a superior product. If you are trying to enhance the value of your printed image then why not give them the durability and variety that a lamination would provide. Coating has its value but if you are trying to make margin then give them a better finished product
