    Hi

We started to have registration problem with our air fed-folder some time ago. I remeber that when it frist got here, registration was almost perfect. We replaced the feed rubber bands and the red sheet separator and, i think it was then we started to have problems. We replaced them again and problem remains.

The set up is allright(seems to me) but rollers are shiny(in offset printing that's bad, but don't know if so in folders).

Any ideas? New rollers? Maybe a worn part?

    Thank you
    Moe

Yes, shiney bad! Could olso be a paper target issue, that is the paper is not hitting the nip of fold roller 1 and main straight and keystoning on feed, I've seen that problem quite a bit in that model folder.

    Target issue on 714

    1. Unplug the machine.
    2. get 2 quarters.
    3. remove the guard covering the top roller.
    4. place the two quarters in the nip of the main and no.1 roller.
    5. raise the separator tab so paper will easily slide past, place a sheet of paper (11x17 that you cut and know is square works best) against the quarters and align the side guides to the paper.

By doing this you have squared the lead edge of the stock to the nip of fold roller no.1, the quarters extend that nip, to a point you can see. You are then able to square the side guides to the paper, ensureing the paper enters the fold rollers straight and contacts the no. 1 fold plate stop squarely.

TAKE THE QUARTERS OUT BEFORE TURNING THE HANDWHEEL OR STARTING THE MACHINE, THE DAMAGE THEY CAN DO IS IMPRESSIVE!
