Ryobi 3404 DI vs. Heidelberg QMDI 46-4

Buying a used press, would you look at a Ryobi 3404 DI (possibly lower cost of operation and maintenance, and possibly better print quality???) or a Heidelberg QMDI 46-4 (for legendary Heidelberg quality)? Any thoughts from anyone who has operated either of these presses would be greatly appreciated.

What accounts for the huge difference in price between #1 and #2? The 1996 needs a lot of maintenance or shows a noticeably worse print quality than the 2002? Neither seems to have many impressions on them -- what are these presses rated for? 25-50 million impressions?

I ve worked on both presses for quite a long. No doubt, the Ryobi (presstek) is way ahead of the QM

    Dear Mirve,
it's blah blah blah what you are writing.
you are selling QM DI but you don't know what you are talking about. All models of QM DI has the same number of diodes (not diotes) . 16 pcs. in each unit means 64 in whole press.
Both Classic and Plus have the same washing devices (plate's, blanket's, roller's), some Plus of them (not Classic)
could have optionally printing cylinder washing device.

I have operated both presses you mention and the ryobi is far superior in print quality and gives you less problems overall. The only major drag of the ryobi is the sidelay change over which is awful and very difficult to do. I will leave you a contact tell number should you want to chat about either press. kev c 07749980382 liverpool uk

Yes handsome dave,i have to agree with you but the heidelberg side lay and register and ease of backing jobs up blows the ryobi away.

I have operated both presses and the ryobi gives you much better print quality as more rollers and no hollow number three roller that causes so much trouble. You can re write the ryobi plate again without advancing if you have a bad burn and you can over write the same plate as a solid plate if you chose to seal a job without advancing. Ryobi has more plate forme rollers and more inkers but sadly has an absolutely awful side lay device.Be wary of disco manager on press as if you need a code to re set rollers after an improper de clutch, the manufacturer are reluctant to give you the code and you might have to pay for an engineer to come out and fix a basic error
