I'm a bit surprised the heidelberg quickmaster DI is popular in Mexico -- I would have thought that the dramatically lower cost of labor for pressmen in Mexico would favor the higher solids quality of a conventional press and separate CTP solution as heidelberg has headed.

Well it has been not only popular in Mexico, also in Latinamerica. I used to be the Sales DI Mangar for Heidelberg Mexico for 8 years and sold quite afew of them also including the Speedmaster DI. Even that you could think you will have lower labor cost in Mexico, the problem is that sometimes is not qualify so your make ready time even with a CtP and conventional press takes longer time due to some human errors.
Now a day you can find QMDI presses in very good conditions in very good prices, so you will be more competitive that with a CtP.
