Hey guys, long time lurker and user of the site for problem solving, but new member and first time poster.

My company recently upgraded from an original QMDI Classic, the purple panel one, to a slightly more modern QMDI Plus. Upon installing I hooked up the RIP that came with the machine, which was pretty old, to which we received an error that the F: Drive was missing/unavailable and the machine wouldn't go past that point. So we unplugged that RIP and plugged in our own existing RIP from the old press, exact same crossover cables, networking cables, etc, to which the press seemed to recognize it and booted up fine.

But now I've come across an issue in that the jobs I'm outputting to print are showing up on the press as they should be, but in red text, and cannot be accessed on the machine, or burned. I've included a screenshot of what's going on, the jobs in red are the trial files I'm sending. I've searched for the root of this issue but I cannot find and answer and have no idea what it is. Any help or input? It feels like it must be a small setting fix, but nothing I've tried thus far has worked, and I don't want to change a setting and cause more issues.

Any help or input is appreciated. Thanks.

The old rip from the classic DI was set up for 8 inkzones. The plus expects 12 in the files from the rip. (this could be this problem)

Interesting, hadn't thought of that, thanks Marc. The obvious next question, is it possible to change that setting, and if so, how?

I don't think your classic rip has an option for 12 inkzones because when they released it there was no need for it. I asume the classic rip run's on a DEC ALPHA platform, does the PLUS rip also ran on a DEC ALPHA platform.

Just an update to this. I sent an email over to Anthony at QMDI press, http://www.qmdipress.com/, qmdipress1 user name here as we bought our RIP from him a few years back. Within a couple minutes I got a call from him and after a quick call and some fixes we're up and running. Turns out it was an 8 zone vs 12 zone key issue as Marc diagnosed, apparently on Harlequin RIPs it can be fixed. Great guy to work with if you run into a jam.
