When the machine is started its fine. The heads individually work fine but when all 4 are on at the same time the machine shuts off and restarts. Sometimes the vacuum stays on when machine shuts off and the main console goes blank and starts flashing on n off "INIT PLUS". We have checked the X7 connector and it looks fine. We would appreciate any help. Thank You

"init plus" error is always related to the 5/24VDC power supply, mostly X7 connector on SVK-3, but some times it could be the contacts problem between SVK-3 and ZTK: the blue wires you see in front of you looking on those two boards.

I guess you mean head=unit. For the laser head problems, that don't work all 4 together, the explanation would be different.

Hi, we had our AB Dick Century 3500 press shut down suddenly and come back with "initializing press" message. I traced the problem to 5V disappearing - I had taken the 5V DC power supply board out and re-soldered pretty much every point. Problem haven't came back so far. I had a Back-up plan in case resoldering don't work: Any computer power supply will give you a nice powerful stabilazed 5V for $30-40,you can cut it in between 120V AC input and output lines of your old 5V power supply. You can do it just for an experiment before buying a that rediculosly priced/overpriced original power supply if you like everything orginal.

Hi i have a very similar problem. I have also been told by others basically what Jan is saying. Is it possible for anyone to upload any images of the location of the Blue cable and which connectors i should be checking on the boards. I have looked at the boards and re-soldered it. But im not sure if its the correct one. and same problem persists. Please if anyone can help. Thanks

You don't need pictures of those connectors, there is only one blue wires connections between SVK-3 (the one with all yellows connectors) and ZTK board. The best you change both connectors. But first of all I would check X7 on SVK-3 board, even if it looks fine could be oxidate. Observe with multimeter if your 5/24VDC is stable on SVK-3 during "Init plus" on display .

The problem is with the single connector to the two red wires (AC) on the SVK3.
Turn off the machine and wait for mine least 3minutes. Then pull the plug with the two red wires. Then a very small drop of contact spray on the front of the two red wires enters. Then pull the plug several times in and out.
If the connector already discolored brown, then it must be renewed at the next opportunity!
Turn on the machine and continue working!
