Do you want to connect both RIP's at the same time to the DI, or made a backup of one and now testing the backup RIP and it doesn't work. In second case what have you done to create this backup (all steps).

firstly thanks Marc you for your reply

i want to connect one original IP to DI (then i am trying to connect with the second computer)

no we got only one dongle so i can't connect both computers at a time

both RIP's have the same settings the original one is working but the back up one is not working

Are both computers at the same time in the network, if yes connect only one at the time. An IP adress is not used for the DI. Can you make a descriptions of all steps you made to copy the original RIP to the backup on (maybe you forgot something)

As Marc stated the QMDI does not use the TCP/IP protocol, it uses a popular network protocol from the early 90's called NetBEUI.

Check in the network adapter settings that NetBEUI is present and enabled if not the press has no way of comunicating with the RIP.

By default the QMDI will look for a computer with the name QM_RIP1.

So your RIP's computer name will have to be QM_RIP1 however it also must be the only QM_RIP1 present on your network, two computers with the same idea although possible on mordern operating systems isn't a great idea.

no only one computer at a time on the network
fistly i installed windows 2000 server with diffrent ip address , with same computer name and work group name as well

after that i installed delta technologies
while i am instaling delta i used the same drives as the other one
i send a print from the work station to InputDir then i checked it on RIP , that looks fine in the job's list after that i sent print to UNSKEWED even that looks
allright, but when i checked it on the press i did't show up the print file.
both RIP's have the same name as QM_PRESS1 and with same password as the other, but any way i am using only one RIP on the network at a time.
as mightyard stated By default the QMDI will look for a computer with the name QM_RIP1, but i set up the rip name as QM_PRESS1 in QMDI.
