I currently print a lot of 2 & 3 colour foms & Stationary on a QM 46/2.Sometimes I spend more time changing colours than printing.Would a 4 colour DI machine be a better option.I realise that I would be printing some 1 & 2 colour jobs on a 4 colour but at least I would be printing.I don't know anything about the capabilities of DI presses & would appreciate some advice.

Do a search on here as there are lots of threads which can give you the advantages and disadvantages of the QMDI.
Going from a QM46-2 to a DI would help you and your company, (and there are lots of similar things on both machines)

    Regards.

I ran just as much PMS work on my DI as I have 4 color process, while my 46-2 set idle.
One of the great advantages was registration issues.
Getting into a DI over a 46-2 is quite a big jump in overhead costs, but your supply cost will remain about the same if your are running metal plates.
Any standard oil base ink will run fine on the DI once you add heavy water fighting varnish to it.

Advantages I liked best about the DI and PMS work is that if I was to run a 2 or 3 color job and 1 of the colors was heavy saturation, I'd image another unit with the same image so I could get nice consistent coverage without worrying about ink starvation, which is a common problem with that type of printing.
