Communicating with Delta 7.0 Rip

Is there a way to get a newer Mac (OS 10.9) without Appletalk to communicate with Delta 7 Rip? I can't figure it out how to install it. As always any help is appreciated.

 

hi Dmike... make sure that is no a network problem some the wire
... i suppose maybe is problem with the communication form your Mac... maybe is you use a router that can be a problem, i guest so you can reconfigured the Ip address for communicated with your Mac... maybe the problem is that your Ip can been changed... so maybe the network card can fail.. appletalk dont need because the Rip have 2 network card... one to machine press and other for any else.. so you can use this with ip network... is easy to configuration... the network card for the press use a Netbui protocol and other can use IP address...

No necessary... you can use a router, switch... this comport that normally how a network computer, maybe you can use a router for the communication from your Mac to your RIP, if this work with windows NT o Windows 2K try to re-configuring the network card (but the second LAN (RIP 2 Computer), NO the PRESS2RIP)... If you wanna found for your local computer assignment or your administrator LAN, because is easy to configuration...

 

Thanks for the input. I am able to send to the rip though an older mac with OS 10.5 and I can use it through printer sharing sending with my non appletalk new mac. I just can't get my new mac to see the rip as a printer.

 

Well... i think maybe the problem is you can see the printer in you device installation.. but is no necessary.. you can use a standard print that you can to send the file and save the PS file.... The RIPer have is a folder sharing this is called BITMAP to the PRESS... this folder is when the computer design put the file or copy the file interpreted in PS (PostScript File) this directory is called how you Delta folder has been created this is sharing to the network or LAN, the name is any that you wanna or desired to call... let me any skype or whatsapp number.. i can maybe do a VideoCall so that i can help you... I have a RIP with Delta 8.5 and with WiFi Connection is more... i have at RIP a computer CISCO VX6512.. is small, this is located inside the press with Win2003 server.. have a VGA touch monitor 7" inch... is cool... and pretty... believe me, the RIP is only a interpreter non necessarily a special machine... This have a File with extension .blk, .mga, .cyn .... etc.. this file is the design been interpreter to language to the computer Press... The Dongle i have a virtual clone dongle.. this work fine... PD: For send the file you need send the design to a print.. this is a virtual print with the PPD file (This have the property how the paper size and direction to print) you can use a "Microsoft generic Imagesetter printer" in you Mac, you can install or use this printer... but remember the funtion print to file most be checked or seleted...
