Hello. I have a MCS-2 TV, which suddenly gone insane.

    1. All programs are gone, and I have "PROGRAMMING ERROR" when trying to save new program.
    2. The battery is complete dead, so I removed it, trying to find a replacement. FET Q1 is alive.
    3. After I turn the machine on and move to reference point, it refuses to move gauge to front anymore (seems like it thinks that minimum length is reached).
    4. Machine settings look like garbage (pic attached), and I don't know how to change them (I have no instructions or service manual, only partial electic schematics).

Try to find a battery for cameras. 3V battery will work fine. Here in sri lanka, we have a nice panasonic 3V battery which work fine.

Thank you very much for the response. I think it is exactly what I need.
About the battery - original is Varta 3.6V Ni-Cd rechargeable. Is it safe to replace it with non-rechargeable camera battery?

    Hello,

I Have the same cutter with the same problem, battery's gone so weird data. I have replaced it but I don't know how to acces the service data, my paper manual doesn't indicate it.
So now I'm unable to fully move gauge and to enter program data.
Could someone help me for the procedure please ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I have a similar issue with my cutter, I replaced the battery and now the table won't move backwards. I was wondering of someone could send me the service manual, or give instructions on how to configure the machine again. My email is a.magnani.g@gmail.com

    Thanks.

Thank you very much, with the info you sent i could configure the machine correctly.

I have another issue, even before the battery died. Eventually the machine won't cut. There is a signal coming from the CPU board, which is "Ready for Cutting" (H42 on relay board), and when there is no signal the machine won't cut. This problem happens from time to time.

I have already replaced all the relays in the Relay Board. I think there could be a problem in the CPU board. I have already checked it and found some loose IC sockets, but the problem remains.

Do you have any clue on what could be the cause?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Carlos

    Hi,

Maybe you could check solders on the mainboard, I had to reflow all of them to clean random problems. Connectors may be checked too, especially on these old machines.
The first electronic problem I met on this cutter was the power supply, +12V was unstable : solders on the power supply board were dead.
But I'm not very friendly with this machine, I think others users of this forum are more able to answer to you :)

However, I'm still annoyed with mine, I still need the procedure to make my cutter work after battery change.
Can somebody help me please ?

    Help on Wohlenberg MCS-3TV (1989)

The screen is blank (just a cursor blinking), I've checked the cpu board, the battery and connectors but can't find the problem. Is there anyone that can help me on this? I don't have no manual and don't know if could be a programming error. Thanks

    Hi
Are you getting the startup tone sequence?

    High tone
    Pause
    Low tone
    High tone. ??

If the battery had exploded then you have to check all the pcb traces under the battery and the MC6821 ic right next to the keyboard connector. (I'm experiencing the same situation at the moment) most probably they might be corroded and disconnected. And you might also need to change the surrounding ic sockets because the green stuff might be all over them.

Check them and let me know.
