Can anyone please provide guidance on how to change the green belt on the Polar 92 EMC cutter? Do we need to remove the backgauge? How do we do that?
    Thanks!

    Hi brown singer!
I take the middle section of the three rakes off. But therefore you need good tools. If a screw, a washers or a spring falls down inside the backgauge you need passion and a magnet.
Do you have the spare part book to see how everything is assembled?

    Regards

I just use a ratch, a long extension and the socket. There are no tricks. Two screws out, taking the rake off, changing the belt, putting the rake back in position and assemble the two screws.
    Ready

thank you. Does it work better if the backgauge is all the way back?

You can move the backgauge even without the middle rake, without the green belt or even with a loos belt. Just make sure you do not brake anything, because parts or tools are laying around. Maybe you have to move the backgauge anyway. Because you have to get to the counter nuts for the belt adjustment underneath the table.
If the belt is off, check the rollers. But do not change any settings of the front rollers.
To adjust and check the belt tension is no problem as well.
You watch the belt during the backgauge forward movement at the front roller. If belt lifts up and you can get paper in between the table and the belt, the belt needs more tension.

Thank you for the help! We were able to get it replaced.

We removed the center rake, but couldn't get at the two small bolts/screws that hold the belt. Then we removed the two large bolts on the top of the backgauge and then lifted the backgauge off - this took 3 people. We were then able to easily attach the new belt, and then set the backgauge back in place. Made a couple of adjustments and we're back in business!

I just remove green belt covering when it was damaged and clean belt surface after that.
