Default X-Rite ColorMunki vs. Datacolor Color Spyder3 Studio

Anyone here compare (or use either) the X-Rite ColorMunki vs. the Datacolor Color Spyder3 Studio in a color copier / color laser printer environment and have some advice on which is better as an entry level small color calibration solution?

Jeff,

I am also interested in this topic. X-rite now appears to have a US monopoly in this field. Even in Europe I note that there is absolutely no discounting of the ColorMunki products except for one supplier offering a rebate if you trade over.

The Colormunki profiling software appears to some reviewers to be rather simplistic, e.g. you cannot insert the name of a 3rd party paper and have to pick nearest equivalent name from the printer manufacturer's list.

The jump in price from this product to the next level X-rite product is dramatic and way beyond my means.

Now I shall start to read all the reviews on the Spyder3 Studio.

regards,

Beemer

I have the spyder3 pro for screen only now which has done a fairly good job taming my new 30" high color flat panel, but it doesn't offer much ability to customize / tweak at all -- their software for the screen component is a bit wizardy for my taste, though it's quick to cal with. I guess I also want a calibration system with many more bells and whistles but that's beyond my current budget so I'm in limbo.
