I am starting a wedding invitation business and need a new color laser printer. I have a Magicolor 2300W right now, but it prints text (and some art) with very jagged edges. Does anyone know of printer settings or Adobe print settings (I work with CS) that could help this?
Please advise on a color laser that will print text smoothly and can handle cover stock (at least 80c). The recommendations I received at Staples were the HP CP3505 and OkiData5800LDN.
I have not worked with your printer, but usually the jagged edges comes because your document is at a low res. If you do your images in photoshop then import them in to indesign and place your text there. Or for invitations I usually work in Corel Draw, text comes out very crisp. As for the printer I will be receiving my HP 3505 later next week and will let you know how it works. Xerox and Canon are good colour printers, but a little too costly for me. Hope this helps.

Actually, I am working in InDesign and my artwork is all vector, created in Illustrator. I've tried everything from changing color match settings to converting all my text to outlines and nothing has helped so it must be the printer.
Please post back when you've tested out your HP3505. I'm interested to see how it prints the text and what cover stock it can handle (supposedly it's rated for 90lb.)
Thanks for the input!
The HP 3505 is a recommendable color laser printer which can do two sided printing that is just right for your business. HP color printer usually prints in better color tones than other printers.

When printing in CMYK, if the text is anything less than 90% Full C, Full Y, Full M or K, you can have that fuzzy unsharp effect as well. Try using less toner coverage and more of the pure color choices.
Also we like the konica brand...
