Saddle-Stitcher

I am a small shop @600K a year of which 50% is digital. I have a Docutech and a new Xerox 5000. I need some info on saddle-stitchers. I come from an offset background so I am not sure about some things. I find myself doing alot of booklets lately. What is the best solution for my offline stitching. Should I go with a collator and stitcher or just run the books collated of the machine and just saddle-stitch them. Currently I am having to hand collate and hand stitch them. What is the best booklet maker out there? I had a Plockmatic but returned it after 3 jobs because it was horrible. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

 

I've been in the digital business for about 10 years and we are on our third bookletmaker. It's an ISP Stitch n' Fold. It's far more expensive to buy than the others, but it has real stitcher heads and we are very pleased with it. There's no need in having an off-line collator since the digital work should come off the printer collated and ready to bind.
