the problem with printing on envelopes is that the heat from the fusing unit could stick the glue on the envelope, its better to print it on a normal laser office printer i suppose

    The real problem

The first, sorry for my awful english... :)

When you feed an envelope, the jam comes from the "double feed" detector. I asked to the technicians in Spain about asking to developers in Japan a new firmware including a "envelope mode", to deactivate this detector while you print... without results.

They told: "It is possible, but could bring more problems than solutions".

I do not think so. Just they have to think that printers are people without culture or brain. They may think that we will not know tighten and remove the "envelope mode".

    Regrettable.

Konicaminolta made fine his machines 6000, 7000 and 8000, and double feed detector is NOT a problem with envelopes. Ricoh too in c651 and c751.

And both CAN print BANNERS too.
    120 cm.

?Como estas Manolitto? This problem was addressed a few years back by Xerox with their Nuvera product. Under tray set up there is an option to print on "Envelopes" as your stock, this will turn off "Multi Feed Sensor", and will only print Simplex to top tray. Hope they find a work-around for you.
