Hi everybody. I just bought the C1+ and it is the first machine of this kind in town. We are very happy with the color quality, but i'm facing the problem that i dont see any difference between printing with or without clear toner. As the machine is new, the service and support of the company can not help me. (They dont know either...) Could anybody advise me how to use the clear toner? or if there is a forum where i can read other experiences with this toner, could anyone tell me where to go? Best regards from the Canary Islands.

    clear toner in the C1+

Hi Bubbles: We are almost done with the machine. The effects that you can get with the clear toner depend a lot on the paper that you will use. I hope that I will start selling jobs for this machine.

    Hey guys,

I work for Canon Business Solutions and I have sold 3x C1+. Clear toner works great on matte paper. Clear toner on Gloss paper will flatten the gloss. Its all about the design you are looking to do, and with what paper. I have a customer who is using it to print wedding invitations, watermarks, and single sided buz cards.

    Hope that helps.

Has anyone thought of developing a higher-gloss clear toner for the c1+?

That is canon's duty. To me canon is not equipped with the right knowledge.
They just sell thier product then it is up to the buyer afterwards.

I have a process for printing with clear toner.

When you use the overprint function the fuser is too hot and the clear toner melts and becomes almost invisible. The best way to use this is to save your overprint layer as a separate PDF and upload it to the fiery using Command Workstation. Then print your base image with the first clear coat, and use the Clear Coat function at the copier control panel to add the second clear coat. Here is a file on how to print the first overlay. (attached)

For the second (post process) overlay: Put your original in the bypass tray (head first and face up, or rotated (upside-down) if landscape)

    Hi all,

You can find a guide to printing with clear toner here. Click agree and it will download a .ZIP file with a guide and files needed for the tutorial.

Also, you can try the Clear Image Editor, which can be found here. Click on the "Product" tab and you will be able to download it. The Clear Image Editor allows for a PDF workflow and on-screen, 3D viewing of a clear toner design. Be sure to download the manual as well as you will need it to correctly install and set up your software.

    Best regards,
    E
