As subject, anyone can share with me, did Canon Imagepress C1 suitable for Photo album market other than color proofing? I am concern about the print out quality. All the time i don't like to use digital copier to print photo because as long as it print human, it look so bad... anyone have any idea about that? can anyone share with me your personal experience on using this machine, because i am planning to invest on this machine. Your suggestion is valuable to me. Thank you

The only real answer is to get some print samples from your equipment vendor from your files to see if it will meet your needs. Personally I don't think the imagepress or any current 4-color laser matches the smooth tones or finish quality of an 8-color epson pigment inkjet print, but the cost per print and very slow print speeds of 8+ color inkjets puts them out of the running for this kind of project.

I'm not sure how the Indigo compares in tonal smoothness or if there are any print longevity issues compared to the toner based machines. That would be interesting to hear some feedback on -- I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. We don't hear much about Indigos here. I think most customers would be happy with the Imagepress, NexPress, IGen3, etc. as long as they don't see the results side by side with a $3 print. I'm not sure if you as the photographer/artist would be happy though.

We are currently using an imagepress c1 to create photobooks. The image quality is outstanding, but remember, your pictures and the resulting quality is a direct result of the file you're using. If you're using low res images, you'll get low res output. The quality will not match that of a wideformat photo/poster printer, however the skin tones on this machine are the best I've seen for a digital copier printer. The added bonus is, your running costs are a fraction of what it would cost to do the job on an Epson, HP or even Canon photo printer, plus you can do double sided output. Try getting samples on paper types of varying glossiness and thickness. Our customers don't mind the difference, especially since we can afford to lower our price a tad.

WOW... what a good printer... BTW, can canon imagepress c1 print on 300gsm media, such as postcard? Do you mind to share me which brand of perfect binder that you are using? Thank you!

Actually the Imega Press is really god quality we have beenn using it for a coupleof months now, Canon is has usually worked fine for us and as we own a couple of printing machines we decided to try it out. The printing quality is very clear if you need more info i found this article very useful: Canon's entry into the digital colour production printing market, the imagePress C7000VP
