The C1 can't do duplex or back to back print on thick papers so we manually feed the papers to get b2b prints. However, The alignment always seem to be off by a few millimeters or degrees, or both.

We tried ticking the Tray alignment option in the printer setup software but no luck.

We tried setting the alignment in the machine itself (the C1 printed a paper we with marks and instructed us to fold the paper in half vertically and horizontally, then input the reading), but still no luck. does anyone have a similar problem?

(by the way, duplex printing on thin paper is also slightly skewed but the difference is negligible, unlike that for thick papers)

When you do the Fiery Tray Alignment, are the 2 trailing registration marks equally off, or can you get registration marks 1 2 and 3 fairly close but find 4 is off?

Are the registration marks rectangular relative to one another or slightly trapezoidal?

(I'm wondering if skew or paper shrinkage is at play. I don't have any experience duplexing on the C1, but on our small cheaper canons I've had problems with the 4th registration mark and had to adjust the fuser pressure just slightly on either the op or non-op side to get the 4th mark to line up (even though a nip check had been done when the fuser was installed 20 or 30k prints prior) This is an entirely different fuser, so this isn't necessarily on topic, but just throwing it out here to inquire how exactly the output is skewing...)

If someone else here can jump in who has experience with registration adjustment on the C1, please do!

    Hey Jeff!
All 4 marks are relatively close.. they just differ by a millimeter or so. Oh and they're slightly trapezoidal. (If you can call it that... i said they don't match in "degrees" in my first post because the upper left corner of the front and back pages meet, but as you go along to the upper right hand, the entire right hand side of the back page shifts slightly upwards. is that trapezoidal? I'll post an image next time so you can better get it)

    thanks!

I have problem with C1 - when I print on 13x19 paper (maximum size) it doesn't fit (front to back). I have made Tray Alingment and in the test of alingment it is OK, but when I print somethink back is shifted...

    Please help.
