    Hi everyone,

We have a canon 3200 color copier. Can anyone give me an idea on how to correct the color from our macintosh to the copier. The color is not correct and we cannot get canon to give us much help.

    Thanks
    Brian

Does your canon 3200 have a Fiery or other RIP or only the canon print kit?

Are you printing using the Postscript PS drive or the PCL driver?

What program(s) are you printing from? Are you printing RGB or CMYK images?

What is the RGB or CMYK color profile in your applications/os and if you're printing through a fiery, how do you have colorwise settings under the expert button?

    Is your monitor calibrated?

And can you give an idea of the magnitude and nature of the color shift you're encountering?

Our 3200 doesn't have perfect color, and unlike our other printers (where xerox and epson icc profiles are supplied for common stocks and improve things) I have not found the canon-supplied ICC profile to be useful/workable. However just using a generic swop v2 cmyk profile or letting the feiry do the rgb to cmyk conversion for us I can get colors squarely in the ballpark.

Post a small file that exhibits the problem (preferably a pdf) and a scan of the print from your canon 3200 so we can see what you are talking about.
