Default Canon C7000vp vs Xerox

We are deciding on the Imagepress 7000 or the Xerox 5000/6000 - Any input on quality/service welcome

Do yourself a favor and look at the DocuColor 8000AP. We just went through the same scenario as you and went with the 8000AP. After 6 CLC's I would NEVER buy or lease another Canon again. The support from Xerox if far superior to Canon, the attitude of Xerox is completely different as well. They are more aware of the production needs vs Canon's office mentality.

I wouldn't consider the DC5000 in the same class as the DC8000AP and the ImagePress 7000. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples, the DC5000 does not handle paper weights the same as the DC8000 and ImagePress 7000.

Default Imagepress 7000VP versus Xerox

I dont know where people get there info but in no way is the Xerox 5000 nor 8000 comparable to the Imagepress 7000VP. Completely differtent production methods.

Although im not a Xerox fan i think they make fine equipment, service in theNetherlands is very bad, Accountmanagement is only so so unless you are in productions over 200 k per month.

we are Canon users and use a 7000VP this machine is even superior to the igen in many ways. No more oil and constant speeds colorspectrum is way bigger on this press. Canon Service in the Netherlands will bot be beaten for another 10 years ii think. These people know what they are talking about.

Maybe in your country its different but over here Canon will win over the market within 2 or 3 years depending on further machine development.

trust me as an ex Xerox user we swicthed to the C7000VP and dont want to go back

Hi,
We have Xerox5000 for a year and we just purchases a new Canon7000VP
what i can say is the Fiery of the Canon contain the Paper Catalog which Xerox doesn't. Which mean the Canon can create icc output profile for each stock. the paper tray can contain more difference stock compare to the xerox which we only have 2 big trays. Canon workflow is much faster.

In term of print quality, The canon is much better in solid and dark colour print but however Xerox is good for light colour output and overall better image quality over the canon.

I would said the only down side of the Xerox 5000/8000 is the oil on top of the print. If you require any laminate be prepare to pay 4-5 times the cost for the film.

It is not the canon can create icc profiles neither the Fiery system. It is still the tools like efi profiler suite or x-rite profilemaker that can create icc profiles. fiery profile editor can edit profiles globally. Wait more time and you will have toners dropping to its ITB and dead starters and toner.
