Default canon 3220 half tone patterns

Did anyone know it the half tone patterns on this machine patterns 1 - 7
are preset or know what they even are. Do you have to create your own??

I have never been able to find a guide that shows the patterns or explains.

Also,

Can you try to print a smooth tone 133 for a rosetta look instead of just a std half tone? Anyone had any luck with any of that???

Anyone have any knowledge on the subject?
Do you use default settings for photos? or use other halftone & gradation settings??

I have used error diffusion on occassion, but 99% of the time stick with the default halftone which seems the best to my eye. Things might change if we get a second machine we want to match.
