2 part ncr printing

I need to do a 2 part ncr print job and the customer would like them numbered. How to make a mail merge where I tell it to print two of each one of the numbers. This is probably much more simple than I think just drawing a blank. I have the project all merged, just dont know how to make it do tw0 of each in a row.

You'd need a numbering software, Like "number press" for example. Within it, you can set how many parts NCR now many UPs, set a location of the numbering on the page, font, font size, font color, etc.
It will generate a PDF with 2 of each page with identical numbers x whatever qty of sets with the image on background or without.

I just do it the easy way and set it up in InDesign. There are a couple ways to do it depending upon what's needed.

Yeah InDesign is pretty easy. Create an Excel spreadsheet. Name column 1, then proceed to number 001,002,003.... etc.
Save the file as "CSV coma delimited values". Look up the data merge tutorials for importing the file.

Then do as Pixel Tim says for printing.
