| find subject for writing paper Is there anybody who can help me find or steer me in a good direction. I am looking for a good and interesting subject for writing my paper in my last year of university. I am interested in bookbinding, but finishing in general speaks to me the most. Are there any problems you know that live in the world of finishing, is there a new technique that needs to be researched? thank you very much Last edited by Beesje : 07-01-2007 at 05:27 AM. |

| Look into square press finishing on saddle stitched books. This technology was introduced about 6 years ago by Watkiss. But didn't really get off the ground, now other players have adopted the concepts and it could be a very big change in the way short run books are presented to the customer. Other manufacturers are Nagel, Plockmatic, Watkiss and I am sure other but not sure who. Just a thought, as not much has changed in the book bindery world in a LONG time. As evidenced by the many shops still running 20-30 year old collators etc. |
