Thread: HP CM8060 ink dry time?

When printing heavy solids, do you have to worry about dry time before finishing or printing the other side (if not duplexing in machine) to prevent smudges? How about on gloss stocks?

First things First - this is a Business Color system, not a "creative" or production unit - that being said, the color quality is very good, and even with heavy ink, the document comes out dry to the touch.

I have a customer that is trying to find a suitable paper to use to print marketing brochures on using the CM8050 Edgeline. Most of the commercially available 80lb or 100lb glossy paper does not accept the ink well and the images never seems to dry.

Has anyone found a heavy cover stock with a gloss finish that works well with the Edgeline?

There are some glossy stock that work better than others - but again, this unit is designed as a BUSINESS COLOR unit, not creative(sorry if you bought it for heavy graphics)

Having said this, the unit can handle 120lb stock, according to spec - I have had better luck with HP branded paper than any other -

But I will check around and see what other people have found...

Thanks for the response. My customer makes only 10-50 copies at a time and then changes the copy, it was getting expensive to have this printed so we were looing to use available equipment to try and move it in house.
