    Hi All,

We are looking at installing Bodonis Presssign 4.6 with an X-Rite Easytrax onto a 5 Colour 102CD. Has anybody got any experience/comments on these? Would love to hear the pros and cons from some users.

    Cheers,

    Jon

Although not familiar with the Easytrax Im currently running Xrites Intellitrax. I see it as a very valuable tool that really shines on keeping color consistent on longer runs. Your prepress dept will need to pay very close attention to imaging the color bars, and older rerun jobs that may be in your system will need to be adjusted in order to work if Easytrax is anything like the Intellitrax. Im not really sure but this may require that reruns are re ripped.
If installation of this system has you thinking that you can now have the Janitor run your press then think again. I think that often management gets seduced by promises from salesman of being able to hire less experienced press help and of reduced press manning when it comes to a lot of technology. No doubt technology has streamlined the process , but the need for skilled press manning is still there. Not sure of the user friendliness of Easytrax but i can assure you that Intellitrax is a very high tech tool that requires some real tech savvy to get the most out of. Im still learning the system after about a year and although i can get it up and running ok i know that I'm not utilizing it to its full potential.
