    Hey folks,
I am looking for a well informed answer to matching process color build to spot color. For years we have been running point of sale signs for our comany (inplant) where some of our signs are spot and some are 4 color. PMS 186 being the main color. We print our 4 color work on a 2 color press and use a densitometer to match the cmyk values according to our ink manufacturer. Anyone shed some insight?

Its always tough to match process to spot PMS. Some colors are easier then others. Pantone puts out a swatch book that has 4/c process to PMS. If you get that book you can get an idea of how it'll turn out.

Exactly, a pantone/pms to process equivalent book will help you a ton. Some inks you wont be able to get even close to, especially if theyre outside of the process gamut.
