    Hello again

This is my 3'rd post today.
I was always looking for place to ask some questions. I hope i found it.

For the beginning - few words about me and my business.
I've started my printing business from scratch 8 years ago. Beacouse of persolal reasons i was forced to drop my current work as engineer in electronic industry. I've bought used GTO52-2 press then. I knew nothing about real printing. Many sleepless nights and i learned a lot by myself with little help of more experienced printers. Now i can do any job in my shop. First few years i was printing all by myself on this 2-colour GTO. Then i found the power of outsourcing. Now i am outsourcing many of my 4-colour work because of price and time that is needed to do that same on 2-c GTO. There is no economic reason to print on my GTO.

Meantime i've bought a lot of post-press equipment, mainly chinese new ones. It works great and those machines helped in growing of my business.

Now i have 5 employers and i've reached the limit of available floor space. So i decided to build new building, about 500 sqm. It is on the way.
I am spending so much for outsourcing of print that i thinki can buy real 4-c press in price range of 150-200k EUR.
I am selling clothing hangtags, high quality business cards, small packaging items.
So i don't need big press. B3 or max B2 press is enough for me. More important thing is it's ability to print on thick stock.

i found press that almost fit's my needs.
It is Komori 20. Small footprint, cheap plates, double size impression cylinders and max 0,6 mm thick stock seems great for me.
What do you think about this press?
Or maybe some other press will be better for me?

the 20" komori is a nice solution

it is a nice capable press tha can do alot of quality work as long as you give it the service it needs and good maintenance.
you need to know the spec of the press andnot try to take on jobs that are over the spec , but within the spec it is a very nice & cheap solution

    Thanks for your reply.
I am printing 0,4 mm stock on my GTO (which is in it's specs range) but it causes some problems with marking. 0,3 mm stock on GTO is OK. It is about 75% of GTO's spec. So i think that 0,45mm stock on komori also should be ok.

What's the reason that there are so few available Komori 20 presses on secondhand market? There are many speeedmasters 52 and ryobi's.
Nobody wants to sell it or isn't it so popular as SM52?

Universal UV printer will make your printing process become much more easier:

By using flat be and digital output, it released traditonal printing methods from the limit of material size and thickiness.
No need to make film plate, printing down, color register and any other middle consuming materials.
Print directly on wooden material, ceramic tiles, acrylic sheets, glass, textiles, metal panels, leather sheet, PVC sheets, ABS sheets and any other soft or hard materials.
The printing cost is 80% lower than traditional methods, but the imaging visual effect is much better than them, no colordifference, no mixed colors, obvious color transition. One time printing makes perfect drawing. No need minimum printing quantity, it can print in big scale or one by one. It greatly improved printing efficiency and cut the printing cost down.

    The advantages
    1. Easy to control: No film plate making and repeated process of color register, easy to operate and maintain.
    2. High printing speed: it is easy to get pictures by waiting aside of the machine, and fit for sample printing and big scale printing. Much of production time will be saved by using such of this printing machine.
    3. Break the limits of printing materials: 1) Size, thickness and types of material are not limited. 2) It can do true color printing on finished and half-finished, soft and hard materials with very rich colors, such as leather bags, wallet, luggage case and etc.
Universal UV printer can print on soft materials and the drawing will not be distorted, because the printer head (ink jet) doesn’t touch to the surface of materials.
    4. Professional water-proof inks and perfect and high precision printing: by using our high fidlity 7 or 8 colors inks, the printed drawings will be very reality with obvious color layers,no colordifference, no mixed colors,no need printing coat. The color quality picture is same as photographs, but water-proof, wearproof, anti-sunburning and not easy to lose.
All of these above can not reached by traditional printing process.

The special character of Our Universal UV printers
    1. Detect thickness of materials, then automatically adjust the printing height and set it: smart induction and defensive system protect the printing head from hitting on printing materials.
    2. Two levels of ink filtering system prevents the jets not easy to be jamed.
    3. Automatically printing head washing system.
    4. Printing on rough and oblique surface, but still keep the printing effect in perfect result.
    5. Big ink containers, don’t have to change inks frequently and cut the printing cost down.
    6. Better maintaince with better maintaiance accessories make sure our after sales service in better condition.

Most in the offset forum are looking for a printing speed of 10,000+ impressions per hour..

So I'm going to pose a question for you. Where does your business model take you in 1,3,5,7 and 10 years? This may determine which piece of equipment is right for you. Now with that said you also need to take into account finishing and plating.(along with manny other variables) Is it the right time to step up now to plan for the future if so maybe a half size used machine would suit you better than the 20 ". If not then the 20" might just be the perfect fit. Everyone here has their favorite machines or what we think might be best however some of us are 4 time zones away and cannot see your real business model. All the machines listed above are very good and some might be better than others. The question first posted was what do we think about the press ,its a nice machine. I believe parts are available reasonable and they run. If it is within the spec range and will hold you into the future then it should be a good fit.

Also it might be a good idea to bring along a tech you trust to look over the equipment along with someone who has run it before or at least the pressman who will be running said equipment. Two eyes are better than one as they say.
