Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew the best press to convert to LED-UV is. I was told Shinoharas and Ryobis were good but stay away from Komoris because of their water system. Can anyone confirm or deny this. Thank-you.

    Yes

i can tell you that Komories have a very good dampening system.
I would stay away from the Shino's due to factory gone over the bridge , and from Ryobi if not build originally for UV.
Have no clue why anyone told you what they did - sounds to me like they have an interest..... :)

I am a Komori guy and I love them. This is in respect to running LED inks. I was actually referred by LED ink companies who have heard a lot of complaints about switching over to LED with Komoris

It may be an issue with their inks....not with Komori presses.

    that is simple :)

Go to Komori and ask them for the checked & recomended inks for LED UV or as they call it HUV - this way you will have a solution you will have no complaints about :)

@Meny... H-UV is totally different from LED UV.
H-UV is high reactive UV which is similar to LE UV that needs low energy to cure.

Komori are excellent presses to convert to LED-UV. If you are still trying to decide I can help.

Is there one of those curing lamps after each unit? How does that technology compare to standard UV?

alibryan. No you do not need interdecks at every unit. Normal setup would be 1 module at unit 1 or 2 for printing Opaque White then 1 module after the last printing unit or in the delivery depending on the press. LED uses 80% less energy and creates no heat or Ozone smell like conventional UV.
