    Hi All,

Can anyone enlighten me about the dampening type(s) (non-Conventional) to be expected in a 1987-88 Komori L440 (no plate cocking)?

Specifically, their pros/cons and method to identify them.

If it is not conventional it is....

    Komotimatics.
this system is proofed and used for years , and if you use it right and keep your press at top roller & chem condition , it is fantastice , very stable and accurate.

but if you keep your press in a mess,,, then mess is what you get in return - no shortcuts.

So, there are two types of dampening systems
    possible in the 1987-88 L440.
First is the conventional one, having molleton
/textile rollers, can run on water and fount without alcohol.
The second is komorimatic, will use alcohol and fount to run, and can't be run without alcohol.

    Am I correct?

Yes you are right, but some older machines had Dahlgren dampening system too.

    But I won't get a Dahlgren in the 1987 Lithrone, can I?
