No, I still have a lot of research to do before jumping into this. I had my eye on a 4-color 14x20 heidelberg for 65k but let this one go until I get a better handle on how to evaluate a used press before purchasing.

What is the oldest 4-color speedmaster 52 you would consider buying?

year 2000 but for now my priority is on Gto

I operate a 5 color perfector that is an 1986 2over3 or five in line. Speedmasters are the BEST press you can buy they are more expensive but if you take care and do the maintance keep it greased and clean the only problem i have is usually electric. a contact or something like that a very sound well make press. I have ran Miehle, Miller Kormori and many more the Heidelberg is the Cadillac IMHO

Early speedmasters are pants, when they were first launched they had loads of electrical problems, the SM which repaced the GTO has far better inking and dampening but in my oppinion when they get past five years old they show there age, the new sm dont hold enough air in there preassure tank and when the pipes get brittle the comprerssor cant keep up with nearly constant use and it burns out. We run a 2 col SM 52 and its always trippin out compressors for no reason. GTO may not print as well but there nowere near a complicated mechanicaly and engineeres have got a bit more room to fix them unlike on a SM.
