We have an intermittent problem where the side guide positioning motor stops working intermittently. A motor is flashing screen for the ssk 2 board. I am trying to understand the difference between dyn and init test and the screens that toggle t+0 and t=-1. If someone could explain these screens I am hoping we can get to the bottom of whether this is a board or motor problem because both are quite expencive

On power-up the installed software performs an
initialization and self-diagnosis during which it
checks various components and functions which
can be tested at standstill of the press. If the
software detects a malfunction, certain tests will
terminate with a fault message and will be shown in
    the service display ”Init-tests”.

After completion of the Init-tests, further tests are
performed cyclically which depend on the state of
the press (run, standstill etc.). If the software
detects a fault, certain tests will terminate with a
fault message and will be displayed in the service
    display ”Dyn-tests”.

Software-related faults receive the prefix ”A–” (”Application”).

Hardware-related faults receive the prefix ”S–” (”System”).

The faults which occurred on power-up are
displayed in the time level t=0.

All faults which have occurred since the last
reset or basic initialization are stored in the
    time level t=–1

When you are saying "side guide", definitely it is lateral register motor. There are some possible causes by Heidelberg SpeedMaster machines. I put them in list with a priority
1- Oil: it is passing through the sealing and fills inside of geared motor. You need to open blue cover, clean commutator and two brushes with Isopropylene alcohol.
    2- Potentiometer: a defective potentiometer.
3- Spindle: Rarely, the spindle which moves cylinder gets bold and blocks.

For all of these reasons, I recommend you to ask a technician to check them if you are not familiar with servicing.

    Goodluck,
