Have you tried to lower your head stops 2 or three clicks ? this will feed your stock into the gripper a little more without having to adjust your swing arm. usually an adjustment that small should not have to be made on the swing arm.

    Dear Bill,

thank you so much for your reply... what you're telling is truly practical...
but the thing is i am having a different issue here...the reason for me to adjust the swing arm is explained below.

you can see a bolt head circled in red in my attachment.....that head is always touching and hitting the front lay shaft every time the swing gripper bites the paper..... do you know what that circled thing adjustment does.... the more i screwed both bolts inside it keeps coming towards the front lay shaft....so what i want is, adjust swing arm position......because of this problem i am getting register issues at higher speeds......

What have you done up I this point? The swing arm positioning on the shaft is critical, have you changed it or had a jam up in the past which may have shifted it? Have you changed the resting bolts, which may be part of your issue?

    dear Junker1984,

thanks for your response.....no dear....still i didnt touch that swing arm adjustment.....two mechanic came to sort out this register issue....but none of them notice this thing touches the front lay shaft....it was only myself found this cause by inching the machine millimetre by millimetre super carefully...

can you please help me to reset the swing arm to factory setting.....then i can adjust feeder board and front lays accordingly...
i am pretty sure that i can handle the job carefully if any of you can give some advice....

    thanks

If you're comfortable with the fact that the swing arm hasn't been shifted on the shaft through any means, I would first look at condition of 1105 cam (older presses noted for premature wear due to an overly strong return spring) and operating elements of the swing arm shaft. Basic position of the swing arm is determined by clearance of grippers at impression cylinder, .8 to 1.2 mm.

    dear junker1984,

thank you so much for your valuable information.....i checked the basic position of the swing arm when gripper clearance at impression cylinder...
that seems to be ok....its in between what you've suggested......but the sad thing is i have know idea how to check 1105 cam for worn outs.....
could you pls help me to do some adjustment on swing arm to rotate clock wise direction when you see it from operator's side...
i want to adjust only 0.5 to 0.7mm clock wisely.....in other words if i could reduce the swing arm gripper bite, i think that will fix my problem....

just give me some further tips if you managed to find some time...........

    Thanks Heaps,

It's been over twenty years since I've done any work on a K-line. Don't remember much. But think about what you're trying to accomplish. You can't alter position of swing arm at closing point without negatively affecting opening position. If culprit is 1105, you have no option but to have it replaced.?no light task, I assure you.
