Try using rotary inks. They run fine

hi you just wont get dense solids off this press, its not made for that kind of work, think about it , its blanket to blanket pessure ie rubber to rubber. that press is mainly used for bookwork ie text ,pictures etc, only way to get decent solid is to run a screen then solid over it

what is the screen(tone) percentage you could recommend as a first run
before the solid. is 35% screen enough for this purpose.

Press has all new soft rubber rollers, nips are within range, AB Dick pink fount. solution, Spinks Acrylic ink ( as per POPKIN and CO tech that's only ink that will run well on this press). I cannot get density right especially on sides (run 11x17 20lb exclusively). Looks like too much water but any less will cause toning. Poly or Metal plates make no difference. Best case - middle gets nice and dense color but can't get sides printed right no matter how much I open the ink keys... Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Roman.

Spinks Inks will not work with Alcohol water system. You need to use rubber base inks. Not oil base or acrilics.

Try using Superior inks or a rotary press ink, these all run fine. Simply call a Superior ink tech and they will set you up. Their info is on the web under superiorink.com

Superior inks or rotary inks will not dry on the paper with your water system, they need more water and that will give you more problems

I don't seem to have any problems. I also use spray powder.
