Default How to choose a suitable 1 colour

Hey Guys

I need help in choosing a 1 colour offset press. My requirements are simple....one colour stationery not larger than 11x17. But I must maintain a good quality.

Please advise, cost is an important factor.

Thanks

ABdick press are easy to run, you can run up to 11x17 sheet.

I have 8820 ABdick with a T-Head unit for two color printing.
view my portfolio in www.dclgraphics.com for some sample of kind printing you can do with ABdick press.

Check on ebay for some prices, it's best if you test run any press before buying.

Hi David

Thank you, will check out these. I am also impressed with your 2 colour printing...I mean I know about spot colour, but your images look good. If I may how do you set up the files for output? If i have a grayscale image, how can I print it in 2 colours.

Once again, Thanks

Also look for a Hamada, Ryobi or old Multi. Lots of good inexpensive presses out there. How good your pressman is and what he's used to running will determine which is the best choice. I agree to look for a 2 color. Most are anyway and will double production running 2 colors at a time vs 1 at a time. Pressman will thank you as well. LOL.

Can a desktop inkjet printer compete on cost with these presses? We just ran a 2,000 piece 2 sided 11"x17" color job from an apparel customers. Excluding labor, my cost was about 3.7 cents including the paper. Very light coverage on ink, so about a penny per side. We use a continuous ink system & the ink is $30 per liter.

Nick -- I'm really curious as I have not heard of anyone doing a run like this on a "desktop" inkjet before. When you say desktop inkjet, what printer are you using?

Also I would love to konw where you're getting ink so cheap... Everything I print on the inkjets here I figure 10 to 300x that cost per side!

Another concern is that I thought desktop inkjet heads were commonly only speced to last something like 30,000 prints, so that would wear out quite quickly at this use rate.

Newgirl,

I can't really tell you how we do the file output, but what I can do for you is a free 2 color separation for you to try on your own press. if you are interested give me a call at 847-840-1038 or e-mail me at dclopez@dclgraphics.com
